Take a Moment to Breathe & Heal

Let this serve as your reminder, that it is necessary to sometimes take a moment to recenter, breathe, and heal.  This is now something that I need to do.  While I do not want to make this a solemn post, I do want to talk about the importance of sitting down when we need to.  If not, our body will force us to sit down.

I recently received some health news that for lack of a better word, left me completely speechless.  Anyone that knows me knows that to render me speechless is rare, especially since I love to talk.  However, with that said, I wanted to make you all aware that this is going to be my last blog article for a while (at least several months), while I take a moment to recenter, breathe, and heal.

I truly enjoy working on my blog articles, so please enjoy all of the content that I have posted thus far.  As I’ve shared, writing is truly my passion and my happy place.  And of course, you will be able to listen to previously posted podcast episodes on my website at thisrealmofexistence.com or on Apple Podcast.

Oftentimes when we get news we did not expect, especially about our own health, we think about all of the goals and dreams that we have and what we hope to accomplish.  We think “This cannot be happening right now!”  For me, as most of you know, I recently published my first book of poetry entitled “Poetic Prompts of Poetry,” about two months ago, and of course when I received this news, I had been in the process of planning my book signing and meet and greet.  But now, it feels as though everything has come to a halt, and in a sense it has.  At least temporarily.

So, this is a time when my faith has to be multiplied by a million, and where fear cannot enter.  When we have a health scare, it really does make us think about what we have done this far, and what we still want to do.  It allows us to truly reflect on priorities and what is most valuable to us.  For me, just like many people, it’s family.

There is so much that I want to do and create, businesses that I want to start, and so on, but for some reason, this is my season to sit down.  Besides, we cannot operate from a depleted battery.  When we have a plan and map of what we want out of life, most of us do not like curveballs, but let’s be real, that’s life.  Unfortunately, most things do not go in a straight line.  But when these curveballs come our way and we have to pivot we have to remember that it is only temporary, and to think about how much better we will be once this season passes.

Over the next several months, while I do not know all of what lies ahead, I know that I plan to speak positivity over myself as often as possible.  I plan to allow my body to go through the necessary changes to shed what it needs to in order to reveal the amazing renewed me that is waiting.  I have wondered why I was chosen to go through what I’m about to face.  But in those moments, I have no choice but to see the positive in it.  How can I later be a testimony for someone if I didn’t go through and pass the test?  Of course this is a test that I did not choose, but it’s here, and I’m going to pass with flying colors!

Until next time, I wish you all peace, love, joy, and prosperity.
